Get the most out of your business

What does a successful business mean to you? If your business was ideal in all regards, what would it look like? How might that look different than what you have right now?

To get there, it is useful to go through five steps. First, you want to create clarity around the specific results you are after. Next, design effective strategies to bring those results into your life. Once you have considered your strategies, you will want to communicate them clearly to your team. Involve your team in the execution of the strategy (also known as the tactics). Monitor your team’s progress until you achieve the results.

 
 
  • You must begin with clarity - where are you now, and where do you want to be?

  • Once you are clear on your desired results, you can build strategies to move from where you are to where you want to be. Be firm in your commitment to results and flexible in the ways you go about achieving those results.

  • Once you have your results in mind and develop your initial strategies, you will need to clearly communicate them to your team. Be certain everyone knows what the expectations are. Repeat them as frequently as necessary to ensure people know exactly what needs to be done.

  • Now it is time to get started. Follow up with your team to make sure they are making progress. Set up periodic check-ins to make sure things stay on track.

  • Now for the fun part. As you achieve your results, take time to celebrate the achievements and progress. Be sure to involve your team, and find ways to reward them for their contributions.
